Its Our first whole week back in 2nd semester and the kiddos are definitely feeling sluggish after such a long break. Mr. Medina and I have been spending our time making sure our students attendance 2nd semester starts off stronger then 1st semester. so far, our kids are kicking butt!
       Now that the students have caught up on their grades w are spending more of our time working on  Emo smarts. Last week, we had the kids think and answer questions they never thought of. We ask them, what type of jobs they want to work at and what type of materialistic things they wanted after high school. Then we asked them, if   the life style they like living now, will it get them to achieve the goals and things they were just thinking about.  We explained to them, that all of that starts now! getting  an education is the key to being successful! Then We had them write a letter to themselves explaining the courses they were going to start taking now,to become that successful adult in life.
      We hope our students reflect on this activity, and start making more cautious decisions, not only in the classroom but out in the streets as well.
